The Entrenchment expansion to PC strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire has received a new release date. The expansion was initially expected in November but due to a delay, will now be available next month.
Starting February 11st, Entrenchment will be on sale for $9.99 exclusively on Impulse, the digital games service run by Solar publisher Stardock. As previously reported, the expansion will add new defensive units and structures for each faction. Stardock calls it a “micro-expansion” actually but my standards for the word “expansion” have been lowered by all of the tiny premium DLC floating around PSN and Xbox Live.
Entrenchment is the first of three micro-expansions in the pipe for the game. The second expansion is said to enhance diplomacy options while the content for the third is currently unknown. When Entrenchment was first announced, it was said that all three would arrive by the end of 2009 but the delay to Entrenchment may have screwed that time table up a bit.
