Publisher Activision announced today that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare has sold over one million copies in the United Kingdom in eight weeks.
Speaking to trade website MCV UK, David Tyler, Marketing Director for Activision commented: “We’re delighted with the performance of COD4.â€Â
“It’s been exceptionally well received by both consumers and retail. It’s a great start to 2008 and we’re all looking forward to launching some amazing new titles in the forthcoming months.â€Â
Developed by Infinity Ward and released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms, Call of Duty 4 marks the series first transition from a World War II setting to a more modern, contemporary field of war, featuring locations such as the Middle East and Russia.
