Plenty of action on week’s top 40, which is nice to see. Alas nothing has managed to unseat Wii Fit, which enjoys a fifth consecutive week in the Big Chair. Ho hum…
And that’s a bit of a shame for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and publishers Warner Bros. Interactive. The excellent spook ’em up only managed to debut at number two and this is the second time in six months that Warners have missed out on the top spot - the last being when Lego Batman was held in second place by FIFA 09. Ah well, at least F.E.A.R. 2 has managed to top both the PS3 and Xbox 360 single format charts - 50% of all sales so far accruing to the latter format, interestingly enough.
Elsewhere on the all format/ full price chart Mystery Case Files: Millionheir trades places with Call of Duty: World at War at three, Left 4 Dead lurches from 13 to nine. Beyond that it’s bye-bye to Skate 2 which falls 11 places to 18 - a mighty bail, but not as dramtaic as the 17 place tumble befalling SimAnimals at this week’s 35.
And then we have new entries from Ben 10: Alien Force narrowly missing the cut at this week’s 11, The House of the Dead: Overkill at 13, Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon at 33 and, er, 100 Classic Book Collection at 38. You love it!
Next week Street Fighter IV, Race Pro and the improbably, hilariously good Fifty Cent: Blood on the Sand. While those likely contenders warm up the top ten looks like this:
1. Wii Fit (1)
2. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (NE)
3. Mystery Case Files: Million heir (4)
4. Call of Duty: World at War (3)
5. FIFA 09 (2)
6. Mario Kart Wii (6)
7. Professor Layton and the Curious Village (5)
8. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (8)
9. Left 4 Dead (13)
10. Guitar Hero: World Tour (9)
