Ball is not catched by shortstop:
This is a glitch. After a play that ends with the first baseman having the ball, sometimes it happens that the player will throw the ball to the shortstop. The ball will then usuall go into the outfield.
Editing in Season mode:
Normally, MLB ‘06 doesn’t let you edit player names. But, thanks to a programming error, you can do so in the season mode. So, if you want to rename a fictional player to match his real-life self, release him into the free agent pool and then you’ll be able to give him a name change.
