The Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network fighting game has smashed all previous download games in the fezzace!

“It is with great pleasure to announce that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix has sold over 250,000 units year to date. HD Remix has shattered both day one and week one sales records and will most likely break 30 day sales records as well. It’s on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title ever.”
The post from the official blog, Capcom-Unity, then goes on to thank everyone involved, especially you, the beloved fans, etc. etc. and so on, and so on before the forum-dwellers start worrying about which format sold the most units – Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Some people just take versus fighting to the nth degree!
Anyway, this is pretty astonishing news when you consider previous download big-hitters such as Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 and Tekken Dark Resurrection. So hats off to Capcom and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Here’s looking forward to Street Fighter IV in the New Year…
